Webinar on Monitoring and Assessment of Chemical Mixtures in Water – 15 March – Online
Webinar on monitoring and assessment of chemical mixtures in water
15 March, 14:00-15:30 CET
Description
Tens of thousands of chemicals are in use in the European Union, and thousands of them have been found in water, but EU water law only mandates monitoring of a fraction of them, and do not account of the effect of chemical mixtures. At the same time, concern is rising about the effects of chemical cocktails in water, as substances even at supposedly ‘safe’ levels can have negative effects when they occur in combination with other substances.
As the list of substances that form the basis of chemical status assessment under the Water Framework Directive is being updated, this webinar will address some of the challenges related to monitoring, assessment and management of chemical mixtures in water.
