The seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) will take place from 8 to 12 December 2025 at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, on the theme “Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet” .

The preparations towards UNEA 7 have started and we are very excited to contribute to this process. UNEP’s Roadmap for the preparation of the draft ministerial declaration of UNEA-7 give us a clear timeline on when stakeholders can give input and

the two regional facilitators from the European Region are eager to invite representatives from the nine Major Groups of the region to join this online consultation taking place on Tuesday 8 April, from 10.00 – 12.30 CEST.

The aim of this consultation is to present the UNEA process and engagement opportunities for all stakeholders including non-accredited organisations, and to collect input to the Zero Draft Ministerial Declaration that according to UNEP’s roadmap will be circulated by 31st of March. The roadmap allows UNEP accredited organisations to submit written inputs by the 30 of April and for this reason we have chosen this date for a first regional consultation.

It will be a great opportunity to meet and reconnect with the new (re)elected regional facilitators, to collect the first ideas and to build collective input coming from our region.

A draft agenda with more details about the content will be circulated once the Zero Draft Ministerial Declaration is published.

If you plan to join us, please make your registration as soon as possible through this LINK.
The consultation will take place in English and no translations are foreseen for this session.

Looking forward to having you all on board in this consultation.

Regional Facilitators: Oksana Volosko-Demkiv / National Ecological Center of Ukraine & Center for Environmental Consulting and Auditing and Patrizia Heidegger / European Environmental Bureau
