Participation rights in practice – environmental issues – 28 November – Online

We warmly invite you to attend our online event “Participation rights in practice – environmental issues”, on Tuesday 28th November. A double panel discussion organized by Justice and Environment (J&E) and the European Environmental Bureau (EEB).

 

In the first session (10:00 – 11:30), speakers from Justice and Environment will present the results of 2 surveys conducted in 2023 in several EU countries. The first one is about the familiarity of environmental organisations with Article 2(3) of the EIA Directive procedure and of the effectiveness of ex post monitoring of assessments’ protection/mitigation measures. The second survey investigated the possibilities and quality of public participation in environmental procedures which do not fall under SEA, EIA, WFD or AA.

 

The second session (11:45 – 13:15) will focus specifically on climate litigation and will include the presentation of a guidance document prepared by the J&E team. Also, speakers from the EEB will present what are some current discussion at EU level around permitting, including the future of the Nature Restoration Law as well as RePower EU.
