Economic Transition Working Group 16-17 October 2019

The next EEB Economic Transition WG meeting will start on Wednesday 16 October with a shared afternoon session with the EEB Green Budget WG meeting.

On Thursday 17 October, the group will meet at the breakfast event for the launch of the Decoupling Debunked report. The breakfast event will run from 8.00 to 10.00. After the report presentation, the Working Group meeting will continue until 17.00.

15.30 – 17.00 Economic Transition Working Group goes to the Green Budget Europe Working Group meeting for a joint session. 

The discussion will focus on:

    • How and to what extent can fiscal reform help in economic transitions?
    • How do Green Budget Europe and Economic Transition WGs complement each other?
    • A Long Term Strategy for the Economic Transition WG.

11.15 – 17.30 Welcome & Kick-off

10.00 – 10.15 Economic Transition Working Group meeting: Kick-off Day 2

  •  Degrowth debate: State of play, updates from national level, policy recommendations 

11.30 – 13.00 Debate: New commission and opportunities

  • What does the new commission mean for post-growth policy-making; what windows of opportunity for change? Who to cooperate with?
