The World Health Organization (WHO) publishes on September 22, the 2021 update to its Global Air Quality Guidelines (AQGs). It is a highly anticipated publication and the first update since 2005.

The evidence on the harmful health effects of short- and long-term exposure to air pollution has advanced significantly since then. The need for updated guidelines has never been so urgent, societies face serious public health crises which are caused by air pollution.

The EEB Clean Air Working Group meeting will give you the chance on Wednesday 29 September to ask your questions to Dr. Dorota Jarosinska and Roman Perez Velasco from WHO, to Thomas Henrichs, Deputy Head of DG ENVI Clean Air Unit.
