The new ecodesign framework, introduced by the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, aims to make sustainable products the norm in line with the Circular Economy Action Plan.

In this study funded by the European Environmental Bureau, researchers from Cambridge Econometrics present the potential environmental and consumer savings that these new measures could bring, if implemented in a timely manner and without a reduction in ambition. The research delves into four product categories to examine the potential savings these ecodesign measures could bring; textiles (t-shirts), building materials (cement), furniture (office desks and chairs) and small kitchen equipment (microwaves and kettles).
