Effective and well-targeted funding is crucial to achieving the EU’s biodiversity goals, but significant funding gaps are hampering efforts to tackle biodiversity loss.
This joint statement sets out three policy proposals to improve EU biodiversity financing. While it focuses on the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, it also addresses broader, long-term strategies to reassess current approaches. These proposals aim to put biodiversity on a recovery path beyond the next funding period.
