Testimonies: UNECE Aarhus MOP 8 Side Event on Environmental Defenders
Across all the Aarhus Parties, environmental defenders are under threat from multiple fronts. During the 8th Meeting of the Parties of the Aarhus Convention, the BeLIFE project with Arnika, Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and other partners host a side event Defending the defenders: Awareness raising, Testimonies and Mutual Learning. This document collects some of the testimonies that underpin the side event. Each of these stories demonstrates the very real threats environmental defenders are facing.
