The BeLIFE project focuses on the role citizens and civil society can play in enforcing and ensuring compliance with European Environmental Law, particularly the European Green Deal. The main objective of the project is to enhance compliance with EU environmental and climate law and to strengthen environmental democracy rights.
This report is an update of the 2019 ‘Power for the people’ report, which was part of a series of reports published under the Implement for LIFE (IFL) project.
It investigates developments in public participation in environmental decision-making in the EU and its Member States between 2019 and the present, including case studies, analyses and recommendations.
