Joint publication with ECOS and DUH. In order to limit global warming to 1.5°C if possible, the European Union must become climate neutral by 2039. European Climate Law must be massively improved, but the transport sector remains a bottleneck, not complying with the “Fit for 55” plan.

A transition to a climate-friendly transport sector is urgently needed.

While electric cars are the most environmentally friendly, replacing the approximately 246 million combustion-powered passenger cars in Europe with electric cars would be completely misguided.
