Fast, deep and sustained emissions reductions are necessary to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Therefore, EU policymakers must prioritise emissions reduction efforts in their post-2030 climate framework.
This open letter (with nearly 100 signatories including leading academics, civil society organisations and progressive industries) advocates for a firewall between carbon emissions, land sequestration and permanent removals in the EU.
