Input to the EU Environment Council meeting, Brussels, 17 December 2020

This letter was sent to environment ministers of all European Union member states ahead of the EU Environment Council meeting which was due to take place in Brussels on 17 December 2020. The letter outlines the EEB’s views on the various environmental issues that ministers were due to discuss. It sets out the EEB’s demands, as a representative of 160 environmental organisations from across Europe, in six key areas:

  1. Access to environmental justice
  2. The European Climate Law
  3. National contributions to the Paris Agreement
  4. A circular and green recovery
  5. Green digitilisation
  6. Sustainable chemicals strategy
