In this letter sent to the Commission, the European Chemicals Agency and to five Member States involved in policies to ban the use of PFAS – aka forever chemicals – the EEB and a group of fellow NGOs highlight the risks of long delays and derogation posed by a new restriction proposal on the use of PFAS in fire-fighting foams. The document also contains ECHA’s reply and the NGOs’ reaction to ECHA’s reply.
