This joint statement, signed by a range of key stakeholders in the future of EU agriculture – from farmers to consumer groups, trade associations and environmental organisations – calls on the European Commission to ensure the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture offers the space for meaningful discussions on the future of EU farming. It specifically makes it clear that these groups expect the Commission to ensure that the process is grounded on collaborative spirit seeking consensus on issues that matter to all of us, and is not used for political purposes ahead of the EU elections.
