As EU Member States and Members of Parliament negotiate the future of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), some political and industry voices are calling for changes that would deeply undermine the law’s impact.
Tropical forests, from the Amazon to Southeast Asia, are disappearing at alarming rates, and a significant part of it is driven by European consumption. We are dangerously close to forests reaching a tipping point that will have irreversible consequences for climate, biodiversity, and communities worldwide.
With COP30 approaching in the heart of the Amazon, the world is watching. It’s time for action, not excuses. Forests are our greatest allies in fighting the climate and biodiversity crises. Every delay in protecting them comes at a cost for future generations.
