This publication represents EEB’s second input into the public consultation on restricting the use of PFAS in fire-fighting foams. We developed further on the broad and long derogation for Seveso sites, information on substitution, cost, capacity and impacts of disposal of concentrates and firefighting water as well as enforceability of monitoring measures. An annex contains a table summarising existing legislation on PFAS in foams across the globe, focussing on provisions and timelines regarding industrial uses.
