EEB response to the public consultation on the inception impact assessment on food waste – reduction targets

In this document, the EEB responds to a public consultation launched by the European Commission on the inception impact assessment on reduction targets for food waste. The EEB encourages the European Commission to implement an EU binding target of reducing 50 % of food waste from farm gate to final consumer through an EU regulation setting legally binding national targets expressed on absolute amounts in kilograms.
