The European Environmental Bureau welcomes the Commission’s proposal to revise the Waste Framework Directive but regrets the limited scope of the revision and not enough ambition regarding the targeted waste streams. In our position paper we detail recommendations on the areas of food and textile waste to policymakers. Some of the key recommendations include more ambitious targets on food waste reduction and expansion of the scope to primary production, improved collection and sorting of textile waste as well as faster implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for textiles.
