EEB letter defending proposal for Sustainable Use of Pesticides Regulation (SUR)

This letter to EU ministers, the Commission President and Chairs of the European Parliament ENVI and AGRI committees reiterates the need to defend the Sustainable Use of Pesticides Regulation (SUR) against attempts to weaken, postpone or withdraw it.

In the context of the provenly devastating consequences of the excessive use of pesticides across the EU, which affect both nature and human health, now is not the time to be delaying – or worse withdrawing – pledges made. Least of all by those entrusted to fulfil and uphold their public duty to implement promised legislation and decisions firmly supported by over a million Europeans.
