EEB input to the EU Environment Council Meeting, Brussels, 16 March 2023

In this letter, the EEB provided input to the EU Environment Council Meeting, Brussels, 16 March 2023, addressing all Environment Ministers of EU Member States, the Commission President, Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal and Commissioners for Environment, Transport, Energy, Industry, Agriculture, Health and Food Safety, and the Chair of the European Parliament Environment Committee.

The EEB’s demands come structured according to our understanding of the 16 March Council Agenda, i.e., under the following headlines:

1. Revision of Directive 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions
2. Review of the Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste
3. Carbon Removals Certification Framework
4. Directive concerning urban wastewater treatment
5. Greening the European Semester
6. Directive on Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition
