The Commission published the proposal for the revision of the CLP regulation in line with the intentions of the European Green Deal and the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability towards a Toxic-free environment. The EEB welcomed the proposal and urged the European Parliament and the Council to proceed with the revision of the CLP regulation under the mandate of the current Commission and Parliament. The EEB submitted comments to the public consultation with proposals for amendments aiming to improve protection of health and the environment, including promoting the use of group approaches, prioritising classification & labelling of endocrine disruptors and persistent chemicals and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the harmonised classification & labelling process.
