The A-G energy label for TVs, fridges and a host of other appliances is perhaps the best-known symbol of Europe after the Euro currency symbol. That privilege may be justified if you consider that energy efficiency policies for products are set to reduce the average home energy bill by nearly €500 per year by 2020. However, in this report we find that some energy labels may overstate the energy efficiency of certain products.
