Civil society concerns on EU critical raw materials plans
Europe’s plans to boost the domestic supply of critical raw materials such as lithium risk paving the way for new mining projects on European soil. If left unchecked, this strategy could cause major environmental and social damage.
Together with 233 civil society organisations, we wrote to the European Commission to highlight our concerns and demand a comprehensive consultation process with local communities and NGOs.
