Το παρόν κείμενο παρουσιάζει πώς το νέο Σύστημα Εμπορίας Δικαιωμάτων Εκπομπών (ΣΕΔΕ) παρέχει στις χώρες της ΕΕ επαρκή χρηματοδότηση ώστε να μετριάσουν τις οικονομικές επιβαρύνσεις των νοικοκυριών. Προσφέρονται πολιτικές επιλογές για τα κράτη μέλη, συνοδευόμενες από ένα εργαλείο αξιολόγησης, ενώ παράλληλα απευθύνεται πρόσκληση σε ειδικούς σε θέματα κοινωνικής πολιτικής και κλιματικής πολιτικής να συμβάλουν στην εφαρμογή της τιμολόγησης άνθρακα στους τομείς των κτιρίων και των μεταφορών (ΣΕΔΕ2).
