This consultation feeds into the European Commission’s planned revision of the EU Public Procurement Directives for 2024–2029, which aims to improve the efficiency of public spending, prevent corruption, strengthen economic security and sovereignty, and better align procurement rules with the EU’s strategic objectives.
EEB’s response highlights how public procurement can be a key lever to advance environmental and social goals, support sustainable industrial transformation, and ensure public money delivers long-term value for people and the planet.
