Our food system is a major driver of environmental degradation and resource depletion, but it is also threatened by climate change and biodiversity collapse. Only deep systemic change of our policies and attitudes can address these challenges.
The European Green Deal promises a ‘set of deeply transformative policies’ to ‘transform the EU’s economy for a sustainable future’ and to make European food a ‘global standard for sustainability’. In this position paper, the EEB outlines its priorities for a truly sustainable “Farm to Fork” strategy.
