On January 29, 2025, communities affected by PFAS contamination from France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, in collaboration with the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) and WeMove Europe, sent a letter to Ursula von der Leyen. The letter requests an urgent meeting to highlight the serious impact of PFAS contamination on public health and the environment. These communities, directly affected by the contamination, call on her to act with courage and moral clarity to ban PFAS chemicals and compensate victims to protect European citizens and the environment.
