The EEB, as part of a united front of 21 European organizations representing millions of people, urge the EU to prioritize a fair and just transition in its next political agenda through this joint letter. The letter was sent out to Ministers for Climate/Environment, Social Affairs and Economy and Finance, as well as to Permanent Representatives of Member States to the EU, on 11 March.
Europe faces a critical moment: war, poverty, inequality, and climate threats all demand action. We believe the solution lies in simultaneously addressing climate change, promoting equity, and building a prosperous economy.
An EU policy framework for a just transition is essential.
