This letter – signed by the EEB alongside 29 other organisations active on environmental, climate, and renewable energy – was addressed to the representatives of the European Parliament, Commission, and Council in interinstitutional negotiations on the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED).
It calls on negotiators to maintain the focus of the RED exclusively on renewables by avoiding any direct or indirect inclusion of so-called ‘low-carbon’ energy sources and technologies in the Directive’s scope during the last stages of the negotiations.
