This report, commissioned by the EEB and conducted by Ricardo, assesses the EU’s ability to meet the revised Ambient Air Quality Directive’s 2030 targets without relying on compliance delays. By modelling the impact of 10 targeted measures across energy, agriculture, and transport sectors, the study shows that full implementation can significantly reduce both air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The findings highlight clear co-benefits for climate, health, and the environment, reinforcing that cleaner air policies also drive meaningful climate action.
