138 organisations from across Europe are urging the EU to uphold its vital pesticide laws and make their full implementation a priority. The letter highlights the growing scientific evidence of the harm pesticides cause to people, nature, and food systems, and warns against any weakening of existing protections.
It calls for stronger enforcement of pesticide rules, full rollout of sustainable farming practices like Integrated Pest Management, and support for farmers already proving that food can be grown without harmful chemicals. The message is simple: protecting health, biodiversity, and resilient food production means reducing dependence on pesticides – and acting now.
