In March 2020, the European Commission promised a Sustainable Built Environment strategy to address the enormous waste of resources needed to build the infrastructure for our everyday lives, from housing and public spaces to roads. This week, we learned that the Commission is considering dropping or delaying the publication of this strategy – a decision that could have devastating implications for the European Green Deal.
In the letter, we join 30 signatories representing a diverse range of stakeholders are writing to call on the European Commission to deliver an ambitious EU Strategy for a Sustainable Built Environment (SSBE) as part of its implementation of the EU Circular Economy Action Plan without delays.
