This study, conducted by Öko-Recherche and commissioned by the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), Environmental Action Germany (DUH) and ChemSec, examines the regulatory gaps that allow these substances to remain on the market despite their significant environmental and health risks.
The research assesses the limitations of the current F-gas Regulation, challenges arguments against further restrictions under REACH, and highlights how certain PFAS F-gases break down into trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), a highly persistent pollutant with potential risks to human health.
