Responding to the Air Quality Directives ‘Fitness Check’ Questionnaire:

As easy as 1, 2, 3!

EU air quality rules are being breached on a continental scale. Pollution limits set in the EU’s Ambient Air Quality Directives are currently exceeded in 130 cities in 23 countries.

So it’s essential that we let the European Commission know that the Ambient Air Quality Directives are essential protections.

Concerned citizens, civil society and other stakeholders are invited to respond to an online consultation as part of a so-called ‘Fitness Check’ of the Directives.

People breathing toxic air across Europe count on EU protections to help them fight pollution.

While the current laws are still being flouted, we still believe they are delivering on their key objective: cutting air pollution in the EU.

We’re sorry to say that the questionnaire is not user-friendly. But the good news is we have produced model answers and made some suggestions to help you take part in this process.

If you follow the three steps below, you should be able to respond to the survey and help highlight the importance of EU air quality protections.

Don’t forget: we need to act quickly, the deadline is Tuesday 31 July 2018!

Step 1:

Open our model answers to the questionnaire (you can right-click on ‘Preview’ and then “Open link in new tab”)

The document has 52 pages, so you may find it easier to open on another screen or to print it out to work from.
