Europe is once again facing a fertiliser price shock driven by geopolitical instability and fossil fuel dependence. This open letter to the European Commission, signed by over 70 organisations, explains why the fertiliser crisis is fundamentally a fossil fuel crisis, exposing farmers, food systems, public health, and drinking water to repeated shocks.
