Case Law of the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee 2004–2025

The fourth updated and annotated edition of the Case Law of the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee 2004–2025, by Luisa Schneider and Andriy Andrusevych, is now available. 

The publication presents a selected and structured overview of the Compliance Committee’s findings from 2004 to 2025. Organised according to Articles 1–9 of the Aarhus Convention, it helps readers navigate the Committee’s interpretation of access to environmental information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice. It also includes summaries of individual cases and reference tables organised by article and country. 

The collection is intended as a practical resource for environmental defenders, legal practitioners, civil society organisations, researchers and decision-makers looking for relevant findings of the Compliance Committee in their work.  

As co-authors Luisa Schneider & Andriy Andrusevych explains:
