EEB recommendations on the EU public procurement revision
In this response to the European Commission’s call for evidence, EEB sets out key recommendations to ensure the revision of EU public procurement rules supports the EU’s climate, environmental, and social objectives.
The submission calls for climate-neutral public procurement by 2045, mandatory environmental and social criteria across all contracts, stronger monitoring and reporting, recognition of food as a strategic sector, and enhanced capacity building for contracting authorities.
