As part of the EU\u2019s Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the European Commission has committed to propose a new law on nature restoration. This law can be a game-changer for biodiversity, climate adaptation, climate mitigation and with that for the protection of human health and fundamental freedoms. With nature being in a dire state across Europe and continuing to degrade in many places, consensus is growing that we urgently need to stop deterioration and start large-scale nature restoration. However, the details of how to actually do it are being debated now.<\/p>\n
