{"id":104633,"date":"2021-04-02T11:39:42","date_gmt":"2021-04-02T09:39:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/?post_type=library&#038;p=104633"},"modified":"2021-06-29T12:03:02","modified_gmt":"2021-06-29T10:03:02","slug":"eeb-contribution-to-the-european-commissions-review-of-eu-mercury-legislation","status":"publish","type":"library","link":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/hr\/library\/eeb-contribution-to-the-european-commissions-review-of-eu-mercury-legislation\/","title":{"rendered":"EEB contribution to the European Commission&#8217;s review of EU mercury legislation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The EU is in the process of reviewing its <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/environment\/chemicals\/mercury\/regulation_en.htm\">Mercury Regulation.<\/a>\u00a0While the use of mercury is restricted in most products in the EU, in some products its use still occurs.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/12924-Mercury-review-of-EU-law\">This initiative<\/a> focuses on further restricting the remaining uses of mercury in the EU, especially in dental amalgam and certain other mercury-added products, such as light bulbs and measuring devices, and their international trade. This is meant to contribute to the zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment, as announced in the European Green Deal.
