Prepared by the European Habitats Forum, this briefing draws on extensive civil society experience and networks across Europe. It highlights practical examples and enabling conditions for scaling up restoration, including stakeholder participation, ecological effectiveness, multiple benefits, cost-effective delivery and visible results. Its central message is clear: restoration is already underway, and the priority now is to scale up delivery with urgency, quality and cooperation.
