This paper outlines in detail the following key recommendations for the EU climate resilience and risk management framework:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"97\" data-end=\"221\">\n<p data-start=\"99\" data-end=\"221\"><strong data-start=\"99\" data-end=\"130\">Maintain the WFD\u2019s strength<\/strong> and resist efforts to weaken it, such as proposed new exemptions in pollutant regulations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"222\" data-end=\"349\">\n<p data-start=\"224\" data-end=\"349\"><strong data-start=\"224\" data-end=\"254\">Ensure full implementation<\/strong> of water, nature, soil, and forest laws to help restore the water cycle across all ecosystems.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"496\">\n<p data-start=\"352\" data-end=\"496\">The <strong data-start=\"356\" data-end=\"392\">European Commission must enforce<\/strong> existing laws, show political will, and act against Member States failing to meet the 2027 WFD targets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"620\">\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"620\"><strong data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"536\">Monitor the use of WFD exemptions<\/strong> to ensure they are applied only in truly exceptional cases, as intended by the law.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"736\">\n<p data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"736\"><strong data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"662\">Increase enforcement staff capacity<\/strong> to handle persistent non-compliance and reduce legal backlogs and delays.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"737\" data-end=\"874\">\n<p data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"874\"><strong data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"769\">Use interim legal measures<\/strong> to prevent irreversible environmental harm and explore early intervention in serious infringement cases.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"featured_media":101093,"template":"","library_category":[440],"library_tags":[453,457],"class_list":["post-118813","library","type-library","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","library_category-nature","library_tags-briefing","library_tags-response"],"acf":[],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library\/118813","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/library"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/101093"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=118813"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"library_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library_category?post=118813"},{"taxonomy":"library_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library_tags?post=118813"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
