The European Environmental Bureau welcomes the Bioeconomy strategy’s aim to bring together the concepts of circular, <\/span>bio<\/span> and regenerative economies. If these are defined to their fullest conceptual potential, this could put us on a transformative path towards living well within planetary boundaries.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

However, as<\/span> the appetite for biomass is bigger than the availability, and<\/span> we cannot <\/span><\/span>increase the amount of land made available to the bioeconomy in a Paris Agreement-compatible scenario<\/span><\/a>, the initiative must focus on improving the <\/span><\/span>value<\/span><\/span> rather than the <\/span><\/span>volume <\/span><\/span>of biomass.
