In this paper, the NGOs are<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> calling on the European Commission to ensure its upcoming strategy for sustainable textiles includes the following elements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Make sustainable textile products the norm<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through high minimum design standards, better production processes,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">traceability, transparency and information disclosure, and banning the destruction of unsold and returned goods.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Drive resource-sufficient textile consumption<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with rules on what reliable green claims can be made on products, harmonised labelling, and better information on the expected lifetime and repairability of a product.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Leave the linear business model behind <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by taxing virgin resource use and making producers responsible for the products they put on the market from cradle to grave. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Hold the EU textile industry accountable for its role in the world<\/b> through a trade reset and strong human rights and environmental due diligence rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"featured_media":104484,"template":"","library_category":[422,423,421,414,424],"library_tags":[456],"class_list":["post-104483","library","type-library","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","library_category-circular-economy","library_category-eu-ecolabel","library_category-product-policy","library_category-resource-efficiency","library_category-waste-and-recycling","library_tags-position"],"acf":[],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library\/104483","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/library"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/104484"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=104483"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"library_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library_category?post=104483"},{"taxonomy":"library_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library_tags?post=104483"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
