{"id":103478,"date":"2021-02-16T13:09:02","date_gmt":"2021-02-16T12:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/?post_type=library&#038;p=103478"},"modified":"2021-02-16T13:09:02","modified_gmt":"2021-02-16T12:09:02","slug":"revision-of-the-aarhus-regulation-follow-up-ngo-letter-to-environment-ministers-of-the-eu","status":"publish","type":"library","link":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/library\/revision-of-the-aarhus-regulation-follow-up-ngo-letter-to-environment-ministers-of-the-eu\/","title":{"rendered":"Revision of the Aarhus Regulation &#8211; follow-up NGO letter to Environment Ministers of the EU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We, together with ClientEarth and Justice &amp; Environment, are writing to the EU&#8217;s Environment Ministers to follow up on <a href=\"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/library\/letter-to-environmental-ministers-regarding-the-commissions-proposal-on-the-aarhus-convention\/\">our letter of 19 November 2020<\/a> concerning the revision of the Aarhus Regulation.<\/p>\n<p>In that letter we expressed our concern that the Commission proposal to amend the Regulation would fail to achieve one of its central purposes, namely to end the EU\u2019s longstanding non-compliance with the Aarhus Convention.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the general approach adopted at the December Environment Council failed to address these shortcomings in the Commission proposal.
