{"id":101156,"date":"2020-02-18T10:02:26","date_gmt":"2020-02-18T09:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/?post_type=library&#038;p=101156"},"modified":"2020-02-18T10:04:16","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T09:04:16","slug":"eu-summit-challenge-a-budget-for-the-climate-emergency","status":"publish","type":"library","link":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/fr\/library\/eu-summit-challenge-a-budget-for-the-climate-emergency\/","title":{"rendered":"EU Summit Challenge: A budget for the climate emergency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Heads of state are hoping to reach a final agreement on the size and purpose of the next EU budget, which should tell us whether Europe will be able to finance its transition to carbon neutrality.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter sent this week, we are urging EU governments to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allocate <strong>at least 40% of the overall budget<\/strong> to climate and nature;<\/li>\n<li>Stop funding environmentally harmful activities, including <strong>new gas infrastructure <\/strong>and <strong>intensive farming<\/strong>.
