On 16 May 2025 the Commission hosted a âReality Check Workshopâ on âthe possible simplificationâ of the CLP Regulation. This initiative is presented within the broader context of the Commissionâs stated objective âto lighten the regulatory burden for people, businesses and administrations in the EU to boost prosperity and resilience of the EUâ. The Commission Presidentâs announcement to present âby summerâ an omnibus package for the chemical sector provides additional context.
In response to the Commissionâs call for written input, the NGOs Chemsec, ClientEarth, Ecologistas en AcciĂłn, EEB, and HEAL provide the following analysis and recommendations.
