{"id":101569,"date":"2020-05-19T17:49:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T15:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/?post_type=library&#038;p=101569"},"modified":"2021-06-25T15:33:45","modified_gmt":"2021-06-25T13:33:45","slug":"explained-europes-new-waste-prevention-and-reuse-laws","status":"publish","type":"library","link":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/es\/library\/explained-europes-new-waste-prevention-and-reuse-laws\/","title":{"rendered":"Explained: Europe&#8217;s new waste prevention and reuse laws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2018, EU member states and institutions agreed on a comprehensive set of laws aimed at preventing household waste.\u00a0In this brief, the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) provides good examples of how countries have already translated these into national law, boosting repair and designing products that are meant to last longer.<\/p>\n<p>We also outline the most important new EU waste obligations from the <strong>Waste Framework Directive <\/strong>(WFD), the<strong>\u00a0Landfill Directive <\/strong>(LD), the<strong>\u00a0Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive <\/strong>(PPWD) and the<strong>\u00a0Single-Use <\/strong><strong>Plastics Directive <\/strong>(SUP).
