The EEB is Europe\u2019s largest network of environmental citizens\u2019 groups, with over 160 members in more than 35 countries.<\/em><\/p>\n Johanna Sandahl has chaired the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation<\/a> since 2014 and is the association\u2019s spokesperson on climate and forest policy. An agronomist by education, she has been an advocate on environmental and development issues within various movements in Sweden and beyond.<\/p>\n \u201cThe next five years will be a key window of opportunity to build a greener Europe. We are facing unprecedented climate and environmental challenges. We must cut greenhouse gas emissions and stop the collapse of our ecosystems, and we need major reforms of our common policies, including the Common Agricultural Policy\u201d, said Johanna Sandahl.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Thanking the outgoing President Jouni Nissinen for his service to the organisation, Ms Sandahl said:<\/p>\n \u201cThe EU is a highly effective forum for taking action on environmental issues that know no borders. We now have a new European Commission and a greener European Parliament than ever before.
