As the EU revises vehicle circularity legislation, civil society organisations, think thanks and recycling industries<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> urge the European Parliament and the Council to adopt stronger targets for recycled steel in automotive production.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In July 2023, the European Commission adopted its proposal to revise and merge the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive and the 3R Type-Approval Directive into a single Regulation on Circularity Requirements for Vehicle Design and on Management of End-of-Life Vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal aims to strengthen the EU single market while improving the circularity of the sector and reducing the environmental impacts associated with the design, production, use, and end-of-life treatment of vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>With this joint statement, the signatories call for strong measures to increase the uptake of recycled steel in the automotive sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":101769,"template":"","library_category":[422,414,424],"library_tags":[499,456],"class_list":["post-117815","library","type-library","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","library_category-circular-economy","library_category-resource-efficiency","library_category-waste-and-recycling","library_tags-joint-publication","library_tags-position"],"acf":[],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library\/117815","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/library"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/101769"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=117815"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"library_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library_category?post=117815"},{"taxonomy":"library_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeb.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/library_tags?post=117815"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
