In this letter, the EEB provided input to the EU Environment Council Meeting, Luxembourg, 17 June 2024, addressing all Environment Ministers of EU Member States, the Commission President, Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal and Commissioners for Environment, Transport, Energy, Industry, Agriculture, Health and Food Safety, and the Chair of the European Parliament Environment Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n

The EEB\u2019s demands come structured according to our understanding of the 17 June Council Agenda, i.e., under the following headlines:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Nature Restoration Regulation (provisional A point, adoption of the legislative act) <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Directive on Soil Monitoring and Resilience (General Approach) <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Directive amending Directive 2008\/98\/EC on waste\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Green Claims Directive<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Mid-term review of the 8th Environmental Action Programme<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. EU climate target for 2040<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Climate Risk Management (adaption and resilience)<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Regulation on preventing plastic pellet losses to reduce microplastic pollution<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Vehicles Design and End of Life management Regulation<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Updated pollutants under the Water Framework Directive<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. The European Pact for the Future \u2013 a green and social deal for a one-planet economy<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
